My focus for the next few days will be, well...ah, FOCUS and it's polar opposite: DISTRACTION.  If, as many think, being focused is at the heart of all spiritual practices, then it also means that 'distraction' is detrimental to our spiritual lives.  Let's think about the word itself, "Dis-TRACTION."  I know for myself, when i feel like I am humming long, when I feel like things are in sync, experiencing "flow," it feels like I have traction.  There is a sense of momentum with direction and purpose.  So, here is the first question as we explore this question of focus:  as you move through the day, pay attention to the question of TRACTION...are you sensing the grip of the tires on the pavement?
